Why I Started Anchor of Lš¾ve
Anchor of Lš¾ve was born from a deep belief that animals deserve care, dignity, and compassionāespecially when theyāve been failed by the people meant to protect them. Iāve always been drawn to the quiet resilience of dogs and cats in shelters, many of whom arrive frightened, injured, or displaced through no fault of their own. Seeing how often shelters struggle with limited resources made it clear that even small acts of support can change outcomes in meaningful ways.
I started Anchor of Lš¾ve to create a simple, local way for people to give back by donating items they no longer need and ensuring those items reach shelters that truly need them. By acting as a bridge between the community and local shelters, we help save time for donors while providing shelters with essential supplies like blankets, beds, and toysāitems that are often in short supply. This approach allows unwanted items to find new purpose and immediate impact. With the help of dedicated volunteers, including students from local high schools, we deliver donations directly to shelters, giving young people the opportunity to learn the value of service, compassion, and giving back to their community.
